The True Treasures of Tropilex

Here at Simply Hammocks we are extremely happy to announce that we are launching a new product range by Tropilex. This company takes the vocation of environmental care to a whole other level, ensuring all their range of hammocks, hanging chairs and stands are made using only the best materials, with little to no harm to the environment. You may be thinking, surely it's not that hard to be environmentally friendly? Like, what’s so special about Tropilex? Well your about to find out.

1% For The Planet
Tropilex is a proud member of a globally recognised non-profit organisation known as 1% For The Planet, consisting of over 1,200 member companies. It includes donating a minimum of 1% of annual sales to supporting the organisations giving back to the world. However, Tropilex have gone above and beyond to contribute 1% of every hammock sold to the organisation allowing us all to give back. By doing this, since 2002 the organisation has managed to give back an outstanding $250 million to the planet. As if that wasn’t good enough, every hammock is hand finished and woven by traditional hammock weavers in Columbia and India. Ensuring they pay close attention to the working conditions of each hammock made. So, when you order a Tropilex hammock from us, 1% of the cost price of the sale will go directly to this fantastic cause.

Oeko – Tex 100
If you have a medical skin condition meaning your skin can be irritated by specific chemical treatments used in products, your prayers have been answered. Providing peace beyond purchase, Tropilex guarantees that 80% of all their hammocks are made from yarns certified by Okeo-Tex. This company provides a health certificate for fabrics, continuing to test fabrics for harmful substances more rigorously than those set out by the law. Putting in the extra effort to ensure that you free from chemicals causing cancer, damage to the nervous system and potentially our reproductive facilities, updating and adapting the list regularly. Those are things you definitely do not want from a hammock.

FSC Certified
A hammock is more than just the fabric, it’s a strong frame too. And what’s outstanding is that all of Tropilex’s wood used throughout is 100% FSC Certified - a gold standard for harvesting wood from forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious and economically viable.

All the wood originated from a well-managed Scandinavian forest and produced in a special wood factory in Poland. Caring at every part of the process, they chose to produce in the most economically developed country with the least CO2 emissions dropping from 464,575.90 Kilotons in 1980 to 285,739.97 Kilotons in 2014.

Packaging and Shipping
Oh, you're really going to love this. Tropilex has amazed us with their devotion already but this is purely saintlike. When receiving your product you will be happy to hear that they are sticking to their promise. All packaging is recycled as much as possible, attempting to achieve a low/minimum waste policy. The individual paper used within the packaging is made from the same FSC Certified tree’s like the wooden stands, killing two birds with one stone.

But what about delivery? Working alongside a CO2 neutral delivery provider DPD, who’ve delivered 969million carbon-neutral parcels with more than 800,000 tonnes of CO2 offset. Cutting out the pollution to provide the product.

Welcome to the Simply Hammock family Tropilex, we love brands that are working in harmony to strengthen natures solidarity.
