1. Care Instructions – 100% Nylon (Hammocks & Tarps) Cleaning Hand wash in lukewarm water using mild soap or outdoor fabric cleaner. Gently agitate — avoid scrubbing or hard brushes. Machine washing is only suitable if there are no metal parts, carabiners or cords attached. Use cold water, gentle cycle, and place the fabric in a laundry bag or pillowcase. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Drying Air dry naturally. Keep out of direct sunlight while drying to protect the fibres. Do not tumble dry or place near direct heat sources like radiators. Storage Only store when completely dry to avoid mould or odour. Short-term: stuff sack is fine. Long-term: loosely folded storage is better than compressed. Avoid sheds with windows, greenhouses, cars or conservatories – UV light still penetrates glass and can weaken nylon over time. 2. Care Instructions – 100% Extra Stable & Breathable Polyester Cleaning Polyester is tougher and slightly more UV-resistant than nylon, but still clean gently. Hand wash in warm or cold water with mild detergent. Machine wash is fine on a cold, gentle cycle (no bleach or softener). Drying Air dry, ideally in shade. Polyester dries quicker than nylon and handles sunlight better, but prolonged UV can still fade colours. Storage Store fully dry indoors. Can tolerate compression, but avoid damp or hot storage areas. Still best kept out of sunlight or glass sheds when not in use. 3. Care Instructions – 100% Extra Strong Nylon Ripstop (including 210D) Cleaning Best cleaned by hand with mild soap and lukewarm water. Machine washing is acceptable if no bars, poles or metal components are attached, and only on a cold, gentle cycle inside a laundry bag. Avoid harsh scrubbing – ripstop coatings can wear away. Drying Air dry in shade or indoors. Never tumble dry or use heaters. UV slowly weakens nylon fibres — avoid direct sunlight during drying. Storage Ensure 100% dry before packing away. Short trips: stuff sack is fine. Long-term: store loosely in a dark, cool and dry place. Do not store long-term in windowed sheds, greenhouses or cars — UV and temperature swings shorten fabric life. 4. Care Instructions – 100% Ultra-Light Nylon Ripstop (20D) (Used in ultralight hammocks & tarps) Cleaning Hand wash only — cool or lukewarm water and mild soap. Do not machine wash unless absolutely necessary. If you do: Remove all carabiners/cords Place in laundry bag Cold, delicate cycle, no spin No bleach, softeners or wringing. Drying Air dry flat or gently hung. Do not twist or wring the fabric. Keep out of direct sunlight while drying (thin ripstop degrades faster under UV). Storage Must be completely dry before storage. Short-term pack-down in stuff sack is fine (designed for this). Long-term: best stored loosely to reduce stress on seams and coatings. Avoid storing in sunny sheds, conservatories, hot cars or damp garages.
