STEEL HAMMOCK & HANGING CHAIR FRAME CARE & MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS Our steel frames are designed to support both hammocks and hanging chairs, combining strength, flexibility, and a distinctive outdoor look. Built from robust tubular steel and finished with a premium powder coating, they are made for regular outdoor use with minimal maintenance. CONSTRUCTION & MATERIALS - Tubular steel frame construction, offering excellent strength and stability - Powder-coated steel with a RockStone granite-style finish - Galvanised stainless steel fittings for durability - Nylon (polyamide – typically PA6 / PA66) hooks and connection points - Tool-free assembly – no tools required The RockStone coating provides a textured, stone-like appearance and is more resistant to everyday marks and scratches than standard powder coating, while remaining suitable for outdoor use. OUTDOOR USE & WEATHER EXPOSURE These frames are suitable for outdoor use in gardens, patios, and terraces. - The powder-coated finish helps protect the steel from weathering - Hollow steel tubes may collect rainwater or condensation when left outdoors - Rust-coloured water may occasionally drain from tube ends - Over time, light surface rust can appear on exposed threads or around some weld points This is normal for steel furniture used outdoors and does not affect the structural strength of the frame when basic care is followed. Allowing the frame to dry after prolonged wet weather helps prevent long-term corrosion. ASSEMBLY & ONGOING SAFETY CHECKS Before first use and periodically thereafter: - Ensure all nuts and bolts are fully tightened by hand - Check that all connections are secure and properly seated - Ensure hammock loops, hanging chair eyelets, or carabiners are correctly positioned in the hooks - Test stability before fully loading the frame Never exceed the stated maximum load capacity. USE WITH HAMMOCKS - Hammocks may naturally stretch slightly with regular use - Use the telescopic adjustment section (where fitted) to maintain correct hanging height - Periodic adjustment ensures comfort and correct load distribution USE WITH HANGING CHAIRS - Hanging chairs create a more vertical load and gentle swinging motion - Ensure the chair is centred correctly beneath the frame - Avoid excessive swinging, twisting, or sideways loading - Check fixing points regularly, as movement can loosen connections over time GROUND STABILITY & MOVEMENT On uneven or soft ground, slight movement or rocking may occur. To improve stability: - Position the frame on firm, level ground wherever possible - Rotate feet so they sit flat - On lawns, gravel, or decking, consider placing slabs, rubber mats, or boards under the feet Always ensure the frame is stable before use. Sudden movement or instability may cause the frame to shift, particularly when entering or exiting a hanging chair. THREADED FIXINGS & LONG-TERM CARE Some fixings include exposed threads. - Applying a small amount of grease or light oil to threads before assembly can help - This reduces the risk of threads seizing over time - Makes future dismantling easier - Helps protect exposed metal from corrosion STORAGE & OFF-SEASON CARE If the frame will not be used for an extended period: - Store in a dry, sheltered location - Allow all parts to dry fully before storage - Keep fixings attached to the frame in a labelled bag to avoid loss - Retaining the original box is ideal for storage - Alternatively, bundle tubes together securely SPARE PARTS & SUPPORT Replacement parts are available from the manufacturer or from your retailer.
