Over 30 years ago our founder Matthias traveled through South America in a canoe, sleeping in a hammock he made with the help of the Huaorani Indian tribe. It transformed his experience and gave him the rest he needed to travel through the dense rainforest, and avoid being bitten by the many critters that roamed the forest floors.

Returning to Germany he began to sell hammocks to his friends and family. Eventually, demand grew and now Amazonas is recognised as one of the best manufacturers of hammocks in the world with factories in South America and around Europe.

The Fruta Hammock Set includes a single hammock with spreader bars from La Siesta. This hammock, in three stylish colour options, induces a refreshing feeling and is cool to the eye. Perfect for those who just wants to keep it simple yet unique.

This hammock is made from HamacTex® is a polypropylene fiber that was specially designed for its use in hammocks. It looks and feels very much like cotton, but is weatherproof and fast-drying.

The stand is another classic design from the La Siesta line. It's made using powder coated steel so you can leave it outside all year round, without any risk of it rusting.
