Over 30 years ago our founder Matthias traveled through South America in a canoe, sleeping in a hammock he made with the help of the Huaorani Indian tribe. It transformed his experience and gave him the rest he needed to travel through the dense rainforest, and avoid being bitten by the many critters that roamed the forest floors.

Returning to Germany he began to sell hammocks to his friends and family. Eventually, demand grew and now Amazonas is recognised as one of the best manufacturers of hammocks in the world with factories in South America and around Europe.

The Lazy Happy Hammock is made from 70% cotton, 30% polyester and is up to 20% thicker than other brands! The cotton combined with the special patterns gives the hammock the ultimate soft character.

In addition, the cords aren't attached to the hammock but come directly from the hammock itself. This is called "Cadejo". This gives the hammock the unique Colombian look and there is up to 30% less chance of the cords breaking.

The cotton combined with the special weaving method makes this Colombian hammock super soft. At the same time, the polyester yarns ensure that the cotton doesn't get stretched too much.
