Over 30 years ago our founder Matthias traveled through South America in a canoe, sleeping in a hammock he made with the help of the Huaorani Indian tribe. It transformed his experience and gave him the rest he needed to travel through the dense rainforest, and avoid being bitten by the many critters that roamed the forest floors.

Returning to Germany he began to sell hammocks to his friends and family. Eventually, demand grew and now Amazonas is recognised as one of the best manufacturers of hammocks in the world with factories in South America and around Europe.

What we say...The real Colombian hanging chair. Fairly produced in Colombia and of exceptional quality.

The Love Hammock Chair has extra suspension cords, our Colombian hanging chairs spread open more easily. The weight is also better distributed over the cords, resulting in optimal comfort.

In addition, the cords aren't attached to the hanging chair but come directly from the hanging chair itself. This is called "Cadejo". This gives the hanging chair the unique Colombian look and there is up to 30% less chance of the cords breaking.

The fabric of this hanging chair is made of 70% cotton and 30% polyester and is woven up to 20% thicker.

This Colombian hanging chair can handle a light shower of rain. We always advise that you keep the hanging chair in a dry place when not in use.
