    Hanging Chair FAQs

You can hang a hanging chair in a number of ways, the easiest being with a hanging chair stand. If you are hanging the hanging chair from a tree, ceiling or wall, find what you need here.

Choose a hanging chair by first working out which ones are suitable for your allocated space, then it's a matter of style and colorway. Simple really.

Each of our hanging chairs comes with its own load capacity rating, which will tell you how much weight the chair can take.

Use this text to answer questions in as much detail as possible for your customers.

A hanging chair has the material in a chair-like structure, with a rigid back body.

A hammock chair is similar to a hanging chair but has no rigid structure to it, it's open body allows for reclining and sitting cross-legged.

An egg chair is a hard egg-like structure that is normally open at one side that's filled with cushions.

We tend to say that the space you need to hang a hanging chair needs to be 30cm longer than the length of the spreader bar. This additional 30cm allows for movement and swinging of the chair.

Sitting in a hammock chair can help alleviate your symptoms, the position reduces the strain on your back, in turn reducing the pain. A hammock chair's structure contours to your body, gently supporting you, whilst the rocking motion can act similar to a massage.

In order to hang a hanging chair from a tree, you will need one of our rope hanging chair fixings.

We advise that a hanging chair should be a minimum of 20-30cm away from a wall. This distance allows for the movement of the spreader bar on your hanging chair.

If you're planning on hanging your hanging chair inside only, we'd recommend a cotton-based hanging chair as these have the highest levels of comfort.

If you're planning on hanging your hanging chair outside at all, we'd recommend an Elltex or polyester-based hanging chair as these have the highest level of weather resistance.
