What is this product used for?
Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarWash is a specialist cleaner and UV protector for outdoor fabric gear, including:

It removes dirt and grime while restoring fabric integrity and adding a UV-blocking shield to help prevent weakening from sun exposure. A regular clean with SolarWash can double the lifespan of synthetic gear.
How do I use the product?
For tents, hammocks, and gear:

Agitate with a soft brush or sponge to loosen dirt.

Can I use this on a hammock?

- Ripstop Nylon, Parachute Silk, and Polyester Hammocks: This cleaner is ideal for synthetic travel hammocks. It gently lifts dirt while adding UV protection to prevent fading and material weakening.
- Canvas Hammocks: Also safe—effectively cleans heavier woven materials and helps resist sun damage.
⚠️ Use caution with cotton or blended fabric hammocks (like EllTex or Brazilian cotton blends). While safe to clean, the cotton may not absorb UV protectant evenly, and waterproofing benefits may be limited. Always test on a small area first.
