Over 30 years ago our founder Matthias traveled through South America in a canoe, sleeping in a hammock he made with the help of the Huaorani Indian tribe. It transformed his experience and gave him the rest he needed to travel through the dense rainforest, and avoid being bitten by the many critters that roamed the forest floors.

Returning to Germany he began to sell hammocks to his friends and family. Eventually, demand grew and now Amazonas is recognised as one of the best manufacturers of hammocks in the world with factories in South America and around Europe.

Using more suspension ropes gives the Refresh Bordeaux Hammock Chair a larger canvas surface to lie on. The weight is being distributed better along the ropes which results in optimal relaxing comfort.

In addition, the cords aren't attached to the hanging chair but come directly from the hanging chair itself. This is called "Cadejo". This gives the hanging chair the unique Colombian look and there is up to 30% less chance of the cords breaking.

The fabric of this hanging chair is made from 70% cotton, 30% polyester and is up to 20% thicker than other brands! The canvas is woven up to 20% more tight compared to other hanging chairs. This provides extra comfort and makes the hanging chair extra sturdy. At the same time, the polyester yarns ensure that the cotton gets not stretched too much. These hanging chairs can handle a rain shower. However, we do advise you to keep the hanging chair dry if not in use.

Each hanging chair from Tropilex comes with a matching bag. You can use this bag to store the hanging chair.

All orders are sent on our Express Service as standard and 97% will arrive the next working day if placed before 12:00. The 3% that don't usually arrive within 2 working days of ordering. Not bad for a free service hey! Where the next day service is not available, you will see a delivery estimate on the product page before you order and on the checkout.

I live in the Scottish Highlands, none UK mainland or Channel Islands?
A delivery surcharge may apply to these address. Please contact us for a quotation if you are ordering from outside mainland UK.

Are you able to allocate delivery slots? Does someone need to be in?
No, If no one is in the courier will leave a note to say they have called so you can arrange a new delivery date. Unfortunately we cannot allocate a delivery slot but most of our orders will arrive the next day if you place your order before 12 noon. You can also leave a note on your door for the courier who may leave it in a safe location for you, but this is done at your own risk.

Do you deliver outside the UK?
For a delivery quotation for a destination outside of the UK please email us providing the full delivery address and items to be purchased.

Damages / accepting the delivery
Please carefully inspect your order and report any issues to us via email or phone. We ask that any problems be reported within 48 hours of delivery, as we can usually resolve them quickly. After this period, resolving issues becomes more challenging, and we reserve the right to decline assistance.
Before accepting and signing for the delivery, customers should check the items and if any damage is suspected ensure that you indicate this when the delivery is signed for. Customers that have received damaged items should notify us within 48 hours of receiving the goods and should provide photographs as evidence.

Do you deliver on bank holidays?
Whilst we offer a brilliant free next day delivery service on all of our orders, during the bank holiday period we close our office to allow our team and our fantastic carriers, time off with their families. In light of this, when placing an order close to bank holiday please bare in mind that this may affect the delivery window on your order. If you would like to receive a delivery eta close to the bank holiday, feel free to contact us.
