What is this product used for?
Nikwax Fabric & Leather Proof is designed to add or restore water repellency to:
- Synthetic footwear
- Leather boots
- Combination fabric/leather shoes
- Waterproof membranes like Gore-Tex®
- Gloves and other small leather/fabric gear
It keeps your footwear drier longer, prevents saturation, and helps maintain breathability in demanding conditions.
How do I use the product?

Clean shoes first—ideally with Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel.

While footwear is damp, spray on the product evenly from about 5cm away.

Wait a few minutes, then wipe off any excess with a damp cloth.

Allow to air dry fully before wearing or storing.
How do I store the product?
- Keep in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Store upright with the cap securely fastened.
- Do not allow to freeze.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Can I use this on a hammock?
⚠️ Not recommended.
This product is formulated for footwear materials and may leave uneven or greasy patches on hammock fabrics. For hammock waterproofing, consider a product specifically made for larger synthetic surfaces, like Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof.
