What is this product used for?
Nikwax Cotton Proof is designed to add water-repellent protection to:

• Cotton clothing and jackets
• Canvas trousers or coats
• Polycotton workwear or uniforms
• Canvas rucksacks and bags
• Tent cotton panels, covers, or tarps
• Hammocks made from natural or blended fabrics (see more below)

It helps fabric shed rain, resist moisture build-up, and dry faster while maintaining breathability and softness.

How do I use the product?

Machine Wash:

1. Clean your item first with Nikwax Tech Wash or mild detergent.

2. Leave the damp item in the drum.

3. Add 100ml for one garment, or 150ml for two, into the detergent drawer.

4. Run a 30°C synthetic cycle with a slow spin.

5. Air dry or tumble dry if the fabric label allows.

Hand Wash:

1. Fill a basin with 6L of warm water.

2. Add 50ml per garment and mix.

3. Submerge and agitate the garment thoroughly.

4. Let soak for 5–10 minutes, then rinse with clean water.

5. Hang to dry completely before storage or use.

How do I store the product?

• Store upright in a cool, dry place.
• Do not freeze or expose to high heat.
• Keep the cap closed tightly to prevent evaporation.
• Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Can I use this on a hammock?
✅ Yes – for the right fabric types.

Recommended for:

• Canvas hammocks – Cotton Proof works well on heavyweight woven materials, adding water repellency and helping prevent dampness.
• Polycotton hammocks – Provides moderate water resistance, though effectiveness may vary based on blend.

⚠️ Not suitable for synthetic hammocks such as ripstop nylon or parachute silk. For those, use Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof instead, which is specifically designed for synthetic fabrics.
