This is our second one of these. The first lasted four years and would have lived longer had we treated it better and not left it out in all sorts of weather when we weren’t using it. At that time we also bought the frame, which is still going strong having had a rub down and some varnish.

The chair, stand, and pillows are quality items (not to mention really beautiful). There was some confusion with shipping the three items, but customer service was easy to work with and corrected the issue quickly and professionally. Excellent purchase and great company to do business with!
I picked this up without fully realising just how brilliant it is — it’s opened up a whole world of versatility for me. Since getting it, I’ve attached my hammock to a tree, a car, a wall, and even a fence post, all thanks to having this stand on the other end. An absolutely genius invention!
Do not buy this stand. You can make it for about £12 with two bits of wood from Travis Perkins and an M8 100mm long eye bolt. Shameless.

We're sorry you felt the Madera only deserved one star, although we have to admit we're a little puzzled by the review – particularly as the photograph you've uploaded shows the Madera successfully doing exactly what it was designed to do: creating a second hanging point where you only have one suitable tree. And what a lovely spot for it! 😊
Of course, we completely accept that somebody with the materials, tools and inclination could create their own alternative for less. The Madera is a purpose-designed, portable solution made from ash wood, which packs down for transport and includes the substantial ground anchor and fittings needed for its intended use.
We only wish you'd contacted us directly if you were disappointed with the product. Customer service is a huge part of what we do, and we'd much rather have had the opportunity to talk to you and help than discover a year later through a review that you weren't happy with your purchase.
That said, thank you for sharing the photograph – you've actually provided a great example of the exact situation the Madera was designed to solve.
